Requirements

This version of P4V, The Perforce Visual Client, runs on:

P4V works with a Perforce Server at Release 2001.1 or higher.

Documentation

P4V Release 2003.1 is documented in help files embedded within the program. A brief description of P4V can be found in the P4V Introductory Tour.

User Audience

P4V is an end-user application designed for software developers. To this end:

Installation

Mac OS X

  1. From the download page, right-click the P4V Download icon to save the file to disk.
  2. Double-click the downloaded file to install P4V.

Linux

On Linux, P4V must be installed by a privileged user.

  1. From the download page, right-click the P4V Download RPM icon to save the RPM file to disk.
  2. If you are using a graphical file manager, double-click the downloaded RPM file to install P4V.

    If you are using a command shell, install P4V from the RPM file with:

    $rpm -ivh filename

    P4V can be uninstalled with:

    $rpm -e p4v
